Am I ready for Mom's Shoes?

Growing up fast, Natalie thinks she is ready to fit into Mom's shoes. Frustrating as it was, she spent an immense amount of time trying to get her feet in.

Our Little Fashionista

Natalie loves getting all dressed up. Her vocabulary related to clothing and accessories has expanded... words like "dress," "shoes," "Clip," "socks," come easy and often.

Slow Time on Sunday Watching the Rain

Natalie had a quiet Sunday afternoon. The last 3 days in Dallas have been quite rainy. Natalie has learned what rain is as well as how to say it. Mostly though, Natalie likes watching the rain from inside the house.

Special Guest Reader for Natalie

Natalie had a special guest reader - Grandpa. Grandpa read Natalie's favorite book "Goodnight Moon" - over and over again.

Pool Time for Natalie

In the afternoon, Natalie had some fun in the pool. She tried her floating duck for the first time. She was a little tentative at first, but she started to really enjoy herself once Mom and Grandpa got into the water with her.

Sunday Brunch with Grandparents

Natalie enjoyed a slow Sunday with her Grandparents. After going to church, everyone went out for brunch at Cantina Laredo. Of course, Natalie ate lots of chips.

Natalie climbs the stairs again

Natalie hadn't been up and down our stairs for a little while. However, when she had an opportunity to climb them again today, she surprised us with how much she had improved. She went up on her own much faster than ever before, and most importantly, she came down on her own with tremendous confidence. It almost seems like she had been practicing. Her stamina was also noteworthy - she probably made a dozen trips up and down on her own without pausing and without getting tired. Of course, she did work up an appetite, which was obvious when we had dinner.

Labor Day Weekend with Grandparents from Chicago

Natalie's Grandparents came down from Chicago to visit her over the long Labor Day weekend. Of course, Natalie is very happy to see them again and loves all the extra attention that she's getting.

6 Months as our Daughter

It seems almost impossible to believe, but Natalie has now been our daughter for 6 months! To celebrate, Mom got Natalie a cupcake as a special surprise. She loved looking at the cupcake and eating it, but having the candle blown out seemed to confuse and annoy her.

These past 6 months have just flown past so quickly. While they may have seemed brief, they've been the happiest times of our lives. We're so blessed to have Natalie and each other.
