A Quick Post Before We Head Home

We just wanted to add a quick post before we head for home. So far, our time in Guangzhou has been much better than our time in Nanchang - it's much warmer and cleaner with more options for food, shopping, etc. - we even saw the sun once. We've also enjoyed reconnecting with some of the people we met in Beijing who went to different Provinces (or straight to Guangzhou) to get their children. Overall, it is a little strange to be at the White Swan Hotel, with so many Westerners here - all with one (or more) Chinese children.

Everything is going well in terms of our adoption process. In fact, we're just about to head out for our final US Consulate appointment. The medical exam on Momday was uneventful and all the paperwork seems to have flowed smoothly.

Natalie continues to do well. We're getting a little better at understanding her needs and moods and she seems to be settling in with us. We aim to please, but sometimes we still miss - we've made a lot of progress on bath and bed time.

In response to some of the email questions, most of Natalie's outfits were purchased by Sandhya in Dallas before we left. However, there are a lot of great shopping options here as well, so Sandhya has been selectively adding to Natalie's wardrobe. Also, Natalie does cry sometimes, but we prefer to focus on her smile and laughter.
